In order to fulfill its work commitments, each team must have 4 players work on its designated day. All players must arrive at the fields by 9:00 AM and should be wearing appropriate work clothing (e.g. gloves, closed toe shoes/boots, etc).

Teams that do not want to fulfill their work commitment must inform the GKSSA executive two weeks prior to their work date and will pay a $300 fine so the GKSSA can pay someone else to do their work.

2010-May-07Kingston to Khandahar 24-hour Spin-a-Thon

Support the Canadian Forces’ Soldier On Fund and Providence Care Hospital by participating in or donating to 2010’s OP K2K. Held on June 5 and 6th at the K-Rock Centre, teams will spin for a continuous 24 hour period.

As happens each season, there are some new teams and some teams that change names. This is intended to be a short listing of each.

2010-Mar-282010 Outdoor Season Team Fees

Here are the dates for team fee payments that team managers need to know.

Apr-08$1,200 deposit was due (registration night)
Apr-08also due: any outstanding monies from last year (including the $50 fine for not attending AGM, if applicable)
May-01$1,415 balance is due
May-02teams with unpaid fees as of May-01 are fined $200
 
May-31last day for teams to pay an outstanding balance and remain in the league
Jun-01if unpaid fees exist, the team is ejected from the league, GKSSA retains one-half of the $1,200 team deposit

2010-Apr-25Fundraising Trips to see AC Fiorentino and AC Milan

The Cataraqui Clippers U10 Premier Boys team is raising funds for their participation in next year’s Disney Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament by sponsoring two bus trips to Montreal to watch these two Italian Serie A teams play the Montreal Impact of the NASL.

Outdoor Registration is Coming!

Mark Thursday, April 8th in your calendar. Registration for the 2010 outdoor season takes place on that day at 7:00 PM at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour. More details will be available as the date approaches.

Entry Level Referee Course: March 27, 28

SOSA is hosting a two-day, entry level referee course on the weekend of March 27th and 28th.

It will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, both days, at Frontenac High School, in both classroom and gymnasium settings. The fee of $75 can be paid on the first day.

25th Annual Kingston Outdoor Sr Soccer Tournament

Registration is now open for the 2010 edition of the outdoor soccer tournament sponsored by Kingston’s Porto soccer team. As usual, each division is expected to be filled, so don’t delay your entry!
