Woodbine light key

If you haven’t yet picked up this year’s key for the lighted field at Woodbine, please contact Maureen immediately to make arrangments. The key for the Caton’s fields has not changed since last year, but we expect to get a new key for the lights at Caton’s in the near future.

Kingston’s Department of Parks and Recreation now has an answering service that you may call after 3:00 pm to find out if games on their soccer fields have been canceled due to bad weather: 544-2075.

Please note: the city can cancel games only on Caton’s 1, Caton’s 2, Woodbine 4, and the St. Lawrence College field. The Italo Club and Gananoque fields are not under their control.

Welcome to Quality Transfer

The GKKSA wishes to thank Dan Roberts and his freshly assembled team for filling the vacancy in the B Division when the Cataraqui Clippers I team failed to materialize the day before the season started. Good luck to our newest team, Quality Transfer. They have assumed the schedule of the phantom Clippers I. Their first two games from the original schedule (against Leeds United and KYSA Kicks) will be rescheduled.

Alcan field matches moved

C Division Teams: As of May 29th, all Jankins FC games previously scheduled for a Monday night on the Alcan field will be played at another field, and on either a Tuesday or Friday night. All C Division teams should check this schedule to see how this will affect you.

Zero Tolerance for foul and abusive language

There is a zero tolerance policy for foul or abusive language at all GKSSA games. Any such outburst will result in a yellow or red card; a previous warning from the referee is not necessary. Note that Law 12 stipulates that “offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures” is a sending-off offence.

2002-03 team name changes

As happens each season, there are some new teams and some teams that change names. This is intended to be a short listing of each.

Spring General Meeting

The Spring AGM was held Sunday, March 30th at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.

Only teams that submitted their $800 deposit at this AGM are assured a spot in the 2003 outdoor season. Any other open spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis, and these spots are now open to teams on the waiting list.

The deadline for returning legibly completed team sheets to the Registrar is April 30.

Many thanks to Dan Natalizio who has stepped down as a Director. Dan has served the players of the GKSSA for several years as Statistician, scheduler, web boy, Director, and generally useful guy.

Welcome to our newest Director, Terry Bagnariol!
